The house was an ideal hideaway in the busiest part of town, walking distance to just about anything you want to do. The family didn't want to leave this hidden gem, felt like being at home. Hope to return for a longer stay. The only negative I can find is the home entry code could be shorter for convenience. I highly recommend this home for your stay at Key West.

Relaxing on the porch on the wooden rockers surrounded by a tropical paradise was amazing. We definitely will stay at Papa’s Hideout again.

The apartment was fantastic and such a close walk to all the attractions of Key West. The heated pool was quite a surprise as the weather turned a bit chilly, but the pool was still toasty warm and fun. Highly recommended !!

We could not have been happier with our stay at this property in Key West. We had the cottage. There are other small units on the property but no one else was there during our stay. The house and grounds were beautiful and comfortable. The courtyard and pool were paradise. We were able to walk almost everywhere we went, the Southern Most Point and a good deal of Duval Street. We can't wait to return!

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. The pictures don’t even come close to the beauty. The garden was incredible, I could’ve sat out there all day, right next to a beautiful park with Key West chickens. The apartment was spacious, very clean and updated, the beds were super comfortable. The location was incredible. You’re literally two blocks from the southernmost point of Key West and it felt so safe because you’re right next to the naval base. Most everything is walkable if you don’t mind walking, or you could rent a bike and easily get around the whole island, we rented a golf cart for a day, which was awesome. They delivered it to our door and picked it up later. There was a great place to walk to see the sunrise in the morning with a coffee shop nearby, and would highly recommend going to 4 marlin’s restaurant, which is only a few blocks, reserve a table for sunset, and have a beautiful dinner. Can’t say enough about this place, would definitely rent again.

We had a wonderful time at Papa's Hideaway. It is super well located (2 minute walk to the Southernmost Point and Duval St.) - lots of restaurants, live music, and bars within walking distance. We were able to find parking easily in front of the home and walked everywhere during our 3 days there. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed the patios, porch and hammock very much. The lush greenery outside is outstanding - truly felt away from it all but yet in the midst of everything. We luckily booked our stay during the off season and the additional units were vacant so we had the pool and outdoor space to ourselves. Really had a great time - It was very clean and very well equipped, plenty of linens etc. No negatives maybe except that the pool was a little chilly (might want to look into heating it prior to 11/1). We would return without a doubt - highly recommend!!!

We were here during Helene. Not overly impacted except for rain/wind/flooding on the road. Rob, the property manager, was very helpful in getting us an extension when our flights were cancelled, and checked on us a couple times during our eventful stay. Highly recommend!

4 of us stayed here during FF and we had an INCREDIBLE time! The rental was spotless, the bed was comfortable and we loved having the pool. It was a short 20 minute walk to downtown, which we looked forward to as we needed to get our steps in and burn off all of the food we ate in town. We’d love to stay here again!

This property is simply beautiful. From the landscaping to the indoor furnishings/decor... it is all very well done. There was a slight hiccup with the check in, as the e-code for entry did not work, but the customer service team was able to help us out right away.

Amazing! Papa's Hideaway is fantastic and exactly as described. Outside area, especially at night is nothing short of magical! House has everything you need and kitchen outfitted generously. Outside access from almost every room: a front porch with rockers, a side porch with rockers overlooking the pool area and a side deck with tables and plenty of seating. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, but still within easy walking distance to Duval St, Mallory Square, points of interest and restaurants. Street dead-ends just past the house, so easily had safe street parking. Parked our car out front and didn't use it again until we left. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

We were in town to celebrate a birthday and the location of this house was perfect. We were within walking distance of Duval Street but were able to retreat to a quiet, peaceful home when we wanted to. Having the pool on premise was enjoyable also. We look forward to staying here again.

I would for sure stay here again! The cottage was so classic and beautiful! My parents and I want to buy it, lol. It was stocked with everything you need for a wonderful trip. The cottage is in a great location which makes it great for walking everywhere (in my opinion). But, I would recommend renting a golf cart if you do need to get around. I would highly recommend staying at Papa’s Hideaway Garden of Eden! I can’t wait to go back & take my Husband next time.

The property was beautiful and charming. I loved that it was Hemingway’s mistresses cottage! There were 2 couples staying but had family with children at a nearby hotel who would come daily and we all moved around easily between the inside and outside areas. The pool is very large and the outdoor area was landscaped beautifully with some roosters and iguana’s milling around. It was a quieter area steps from the southern most point landmark and close to beaches. Highly recommend this rental!

We absolutely loved the house we stayed in. The courtyard was the perfect atmosphere to just relax after a full day of fishing. The house is within blocks of everything. We missed out on the pool (under construction) but regardless we would come back and stay there again.

I like that Vacasa let’s you get a hold of a person whenever something is not right and they usually correct it shortly. On this trip nothing went wrong but they still called to ensure everything was smooth.

Posting was accurate, and pictures are true to life. The cottage is in a great location at the quiet end of Duval. The property is a bit dated (broken tiles in bathroom, rust in shower, interior doors do not stay closed), but these are minor inconveniences. Overall, the cottage is very charming and comfortable. A note on checkin: when they say 4:00pm checkin, they mean 4:00pm checkin. Don’t expect to get into the property one minute early. Plan accordingly. Vacasa did allow us to store luggage in their office, which was appreciated. Overall, a great stay.

About an hour before we were set to leave, my husband needed an ambulance due to shortness of breath. Covid to pneumonia, led him in the hospital (and still there) so needless to say, he and I missed our entire paid for vacation. Our friends, whom we were supposed to share vacation home with, said the place was spectacular. Very clean, comfortable and absolutely perfect. Life sucks.

Papa’s Hideaway, Garden of Eden house where we stayed was awesome! Our family of 4 fit perfectly and loved the old cottage feel of the place. The heated pool was nice to dip in and swim. There is a big wrap around porch that was great for mornings and evenings. It is a nod to Ernest Hemingway so many cool pictures and of course his books were all around. The location for us was perfect. We didn’t rent a car and were able to walk to majority of destinations or Uber. This place is really great and it is nestled behind a fence with 2 gate doors (panel access) and tons of vegetation all around. Housekeeping came once which was nice and unexpected. We had access to laundry on site too which was helpful. Our weather was the biggest downer but it didn’t stop us from taking in the sights and hitting the beach or walking the town. We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas down here and specifically in this house! Favorite restaurant was Moondog which we had bfast, lunch and dinner and can’t attest to the great food. The only thing to remember when visiting here is there are no amenities for cooking (salt, pepper, oil, spices) and a couple packs of coffee were provided but need filters and coffee if there more than a few days. Not a big deal but just a helpful tip to share. Also we used Shipt to get groceries from Publix which was easy and great to have access to since we didn’t rent a car. Awesome visit!

Wonderful place for our family vacation with our kid and her grandparents. We Loved the family brunch and grilling dinner on the outdoor patio by the pool, and the garden design and trees were absolutely beautiful and provide a lot of shades during the hot day. The whole place is very quiet and gives a private feeling although conveniently located where we could walk to the beach or Duval street. The city park is right next to the house too. The management did an excellent job communicating with us and staying out of our sight during our stay. We only saw a few workers in the property once and they are super nice to chat with. Aaaaand we “made friend” with a Iguana who seems a resident of a tree in the garden there haha! Overall everyone in our family is very very happy with the place. If we ever go back to Key West, this would be where we stay!

We loved our stay. The perfect location. The best part of the entire property is the pool area...so quaint, like paradise and so well kept. The location is ideal for Key West. A short walk to everything and a block from Duvall, plus we loved the focus on the Hemingway history. Our days were busy and it was so nice to come back to this private retreat. The only negatives were that the inside needs some updating and the beds were not the most comfortable but I would book this property over and over again. Thank you!

Tranquil comfortable cottage on a quiet dead-end street in quaint old town. The lush surroundings, pool, and porch layout made for a most relaxing fun stay. The Hideaway is located within walking distance of many great restaurants, bars, and shopping, but being at the southern end of the island, it’s much quieter than being further up the road. Bedrooms, kitchen, bathrooms were fine, but it’s the outdoor living space that makes this place special!

Our stay was great. The house is very nice and located close to Duval. It is much closer to the south end where there’s not as many restaurants and bars but a short 10 minute walk will get you to the center of everything. The shared pool was clean and we made great use of it when we wanted to take a break. The other home on the property didn’t bother us, we only saw people go in and out. The house itself is very spacious, equipped with a fully stocked kitchen and dining area, even a back porch, and outdoor bathroom for the pool. The only negatives I would say, only to help future guests in choosing this home, is that the pull out couch is very uncomfortable. If you’re bringing more than 2 people or 2 couples, I would go somewhere else. My friend could barely sleep with the bed pulled out or on the couch. The beds in the bedrooms are sleepable but EXTREMELY soft, you definitely sink in a lot just by sitting down. Also, you will have to use the porters or carry your bags around once you check out, vacasa had no service or help with housing any luggage before or after check in/check out. However the porter is $11 a bag and they come pick it up/drop it off, so really not that bad.

We loved this place. Group of 8. We stayed in 2 bed cottage and one of the efficiencies. Yard is fenced and beautifully landscaped. Lots of private areas to just relax. Pool was great. Really quiet - super easy walk to southern most point, lighthouse, and hemmingway house. Moderate walk to Duval St and Mallory Square. Had excellent meals at 915, Blue Heaven. Drinks at Sloppy Joes along with Sloppy Joe nachos! A fun fun night at Aqua - drag show - no cover, and performers were fantastic! Vacasa staff were so accommodating and professional. Can't say enough great things - and we can't wait to come back!!
