MA135 - The Anchor House

Our stay was incredible! First time in the Keys, we didn’t want to leave. The pool was great! We enjoyed kayaking from the dock and fishing too!! The weather wasn’t scorching but the A/C kept up great! We had dinner downstairs at the bar outside a few times and really enjoyed the space. We could see the ocean but wasn’t right on the beach. Sombrero beach was just a quick walk or ride from the house and the snorkeling was pretty amazing! We would definitely rent this home again! Thanks for an amazing trip!!

Our vacation was a million out of 10!! The house was perfect, the dock was very nice and the pool was awesome too!! Our first time in the keys, perfect to be in the middle of the keys, so travel to either end of the keys didn’t take long. The close proximity to Sombrero beach was also great! Grilled dinner a few times, A/C worked amazingly! Wish we could have stayed forever!! Thanks to the owner!! Also the weather was perfect!! We’re coming back ASAP!!!

The anchor house has a perfect location You can take a bike to the beach in five minutes or Publix without having to go back on the overseas highway. You can also access a drugstore and a gym without getting back on the highway. We have stayed in other places on the keys and lost an hour stuck in overseas highway traffic trying to get to the grocery store and home The house is in an ideal location with the calm of a channel, but the ocean straight ahead for beautiful views all the time For those not experienced in visiting Florida check on the Marathon tides website to make sure you’re close to high tide if you go out in a kayak or paddleboard and avoid sitting on the balcony at dusk ordawn, if there’s no wind because of no seeums will get you before you know it

We loved everything about this home. Home was well furnished and had all the amenities we needed. Plenty of seating around pool area and many amenities (refrigerator, microwave, pool table) located on the lower level as well as in the house. Beautiful dock and launch (no boat, hence we didn’t use) but there if you needed it. Hosts were super responsive. House located close to most of the attractions that Marathon has to offer as well as close proximity to grocery stores, shopping, bar and restaurants. Truly a 20 minute walk to beautiful Sombrero Beach where we were able to see a turtle release from the Turtle Hospital. Key West Transit bus stop literally at the corner of the street. Trip to Key West via bus: $1. (Senior pricing). Pool was heated as promised. My only caution is: if you’re as susceptible to insect bites as I am, be prepared for noseeums and mosquitoes. Not a reflection on the property, just a fact of the Keys that I was completely oblivious about!

The listing stated only one camera at the entry door, however there were many more. This is really intrusive to me. I won't recommend this place because of it. The ceiling was in awful shape, the beds had impressions in them and the living room furniture was uncomfortable. I have rented many homes in the area and this was a 2 1/2 star out of 5 stars. We had a good time but, house needs a make over. I felt like I had to roll uphill in the bed. The house is in a corner where grasses and sea muck gather and it really stinks at low tide. I understand why others have complained about it. We enjoyed our stay only because we can make the best out of an OK home.

So enjoyed our stay here with a couple friends. Place has everything you need, is immaculate, fantastic view, and so close to either the beach in one direction and grocery stores in the other. Also located in a very nice residential neighborhood. Plan on returning! Thanks for the lovely stay!!

Our stay at the Anchor House was great. We came for mini season and trailered our 24ft boat. Having the boat ramp next to the house is a huge convenience and handled our truck and trailer without issue. Plenty of parking for multiple vehicles and trailers. The canal leading out to open water is 2-3 feet at low tide though narrow, reasonably marked with buoys and two reflective markers, easy run out to the reef. The outdoor space is very good, lots of outdoor seating, nice pool, grill and outdoor kitchen is functional. The billiard table on the patio is nice, kids had a great time playing on it. The house/decorations is a little on the older side but very homey and comfortable. AC nice and cold, beds were great. Kitchen was well appointed, had everything we needed. Would definitely consider staying at again.

The home was lovely and had all the amenities you'd hope for in a vacation rental. The outdoors area both upper and lower levels was nice and spacious with more than enough seating. The neighborhood was peaceful and an easy walk to Sombrero beach. *** Please note that this home should not be selected based off use of the boat ramp. As a lifelong boat owner I can tell you that I would not have even considered launching there. It may vary by time of year, but there was entirely too much debris filling the ramp (think 2 feet deep all the way up the ramp!). They came to remove it and hauled it away heaped in the back of a pick up truck. By the next morning it was completely full again. It did not stink and did not effect our stay. But I would have been very disappointed had we hauled our boat down with the expectation of using the ramp. The dock space was fine though. Just not the ramp.

We came to celebrate our 10th anniversary. The place was beautiful, and clean. We enjoyed the pool every day and the activities that the property offers! The house has plenty of room and is close to the grocery store, restaurants, and so many fun things to do throughout Marathon. Thanks for the unforgettable stay! We hope to come back again!

We loved the house! The sea weed was a little to much by the dock. We couldn't see any sea life. Loved the pool. Beds were comfy and the kitchen was well stocked. The one thing they need is beach chairs. Would of been nice to have when we went to the beach. Weve stayed where other houses have them. Very close to Publix and Winn Dixie. Coast to Coast pizza is delicious and right by Publix. Also love Key Fisheries. Brought back dips to snack on at night. Enjoy your time when you rent this house!

House is amazing, its in a great location, easy access to the ocean, very shallow outside bouys but theres a channel to navigate. Would definately stay here again and highly recommended!

We enjoyed our stay. The outside bar was great for watching Hockey Playoffs and having drinks after days spent fishing and lounging by the pool. Our dog loved the freedom of a fully enclosed yard.

We really enjoyed the place - very clean and spacious with beach and grocery stores close without the hassle of going back onto highway traffic. We rented bikes which were handy to tour the area and get to the beach. The kayaks provided got lots of use. We called Vacasa property services on a Sunday and reported minor issues with closet door and balcony door - we weren't looking for immediate service but an hour later we had a friendly handyman named Adam who looked after things - not used to that response - usually you wait on a 1-800 number for a long time to get someone but the immediate response is a rare thing these days.

We enjoyed our stay at the Anchor House. The house felt very clean, the bed was comfy, we enjoyed having the extra beach towels, and we loved the pool and fishing from the dock. The gravel drive was a tough on the dogs feet, but they seemed to enjoy their stay too. Our only disappointment was that the outside TV didn't work and we had lots of frustration with getting the keypad/house lock to work consistently. Otherwise - we had a great stay.

The house was beautiful, kitchen was spacious and the home is located in a great location. Sombrero beach is a 5-10 minute walk and its definitely worth visiting. The dock was awesome as we had a manatee visit us one day!!

We enjoyed our stay at Anchor House. The home is very comfortable and clean. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. We loved having a pool and the pool table was a fun addition. The house is an easy walk to Sombrero Beach. I would stay at Anchor House again.

We.loved the house, pool was great. Outdoor living was setup very nice. We even had a friend crab that visited the pool everyday. Indoor accommodation where fantastic, comfortable bed, very nice showers. Great place to stay with two couples. Close to everything, even Key west.

Spent a little over a week here for my 40th bday! House was as described. Could use a bit of updating but overall a great stay! Location is amazing!! Boat ramp next to the house was even more amazing! Had a couple slight issues but property manager was quick with response and repairs! Would definitely stay again!

Great location! Perfect if you are bringing your own boat. Nice to have two rooms with king beds. We were two couples traveling to enjoy boating and fishing. This unit is very well stocked and had plenty of extras we were not expecting. The outdoor spaces are very well done and a bonus in addition to the nice unit.

This is a fantastic little vacation home in Marathon Florida, close to Sombrero Beach, close to Publix Food Mart, nice to have our own pool, good central location in the Keys. We loved every minute of it and will definitely book again for future vacations

Very nice home with great water access and views. The deck space is great and the ground floor outdoor living space and pool are outstanding. Amenities such as kayaks are nice and there is a ramp to the canal for easy launching. Sombrero beach right up the street.

Ideal location, the house was lovely with great elevated view, kayaks were a nice touch, the pool was great for unwinding and the dock was good. Slightly sketchy channel to navigate, but can't fault this place.
