MA68 - Plein Air Point

Loved it! It felt very private. The family had a great time in the pool and fishing off the dock/bulkhead every day. It was protected from the wind most of the time and the location is great. This is the 4th house in Marathon we have tried, and we all agreed this was our favorite. Thank You.

Lots of space inside and out. Kitchen is well stocked. Outside allows for a lot of privacy while also providing a ton of space for activities. This home has pretty much everything you want or need. Highly recommend.

Our family of five absolutely loved staying here. It really does have it all-biking, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, swimming. This rental was everything my family needed and more!! The fishing off the dock was fun both day and night. The sitting areas outside are nicely thought out. Paddle boards were a huge plus!! The iguanas and lizards were fun to watch!! Kitchen was well equipped and the beds were heavenly. Nice cotton bedding. The home is very loved and cared for as you can see the beautiful personal touches. It was the perfect vacation!! This one will definitely be on my come back list!!

This house was incredible! Fishing was awesome - our boys caught grouper, sharks, barracuda, all sorts of fish. We saw turtles when we snorkeled and kayaked. The sunset every evening was beautiful! I recommend keeping the hose nearby to rinse the sand off feet before getting in the pool, otherwise you’ll have a very sandy pool!

This place was so much fun! The location is central for visiting all of the Keys, but you also could easily stay put for the whole week. The house is spacious with glass sliders everywhere to take in the gorgeous views, and since the house is located on a point, you get the full view. We caught a ton of fish right off the dock; the deep channel brought in bigger things too like manatees in the mornings. Either side of the channel is shallow enough for easy snorkeling; I wish we had tried at the end of the channel by the mangrove island. The house has paddleboards and kayaks for everyone. Getting them in and out of the water is a hassle for any newbie; we were really glad we had reef shoes. The pool was so great (tons of toys for kids). There's ample seating, a grill, games, etc. in the outdoor space so we basically lived out there. Beds were decently comfortable, the TVs are a pain to figure out (but who needs them anyway!?) and the kitchen has no pantry staples like salt & pepper so pack or buy everything you'll need. Highly recommend for a family with a variety of interests. We were sad to leave!

We really enjoyed our stay. The views for sunsets are unbelievable. The pool is perfect and unbelievably cool in the August heat. The dock is awesome for fishing, but could use some improvements for keeping your boat. We did have a minor A/C issue in day 2 like the previous week so might be time to check that out. We already rebooked for next year!

Plein Air Point is a beautiful home with outstanding views. I spent two weeks at this home. The first week was with three of my siblings from Indiana and the second week was with my son and his family. The kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We visited Crane Park, which is lovely, as well as the turtle center. In addition, we went on a fishing excursion with Infinity Blue, a veteran owned fishing charter. Captain *** was very accommodating and worked well with the younger children. There were minor issues, but they were quickly addressed. We all plan on returning. Thank you for making this home possible.

We fished off the dock and caught many different fish. We enjoyed using the stand up paddles and the kayaks! Perfect home for a family, you definitely will have the time of your life there. Awesome place with great views comfortable, clean and very spacious. Had everything we needed plus some like pool toys, snorkel gear, fridge and ice maker downstairs were a plus! We went out and kayaked around the island, saw lots of fish and a manatee from the dock, caught a nurse shark and enjoyed watching all the iguanas. Kids loved the pool at night with the lights while the adults enjoyed the hot tub. Favorite place to eat in marathon is Lazy Days South, must try the Hogfish sandwich but get it lazy style! Lots of great places to swim/snorkel close by…Sombrero beach is really close for swimming, Coco Plum is good to walk along for free beaches. We can’t wait to come back and relax in your piece of paradise…thank you!e

Really lovely place, much as it appears in the pictures. We were able to fish, canoe and swim off the dock, and kids had a fantastic time. Marathon is one of the more relaxing places in the Keys, and we just loved it.

We've been vacationing on Marathon since 2017 and we found one of the best hidden gems on the island in Plein Air Point. The views are incredible, the pool cooled us down easily and made for great memories, the beds were comfortable, the downstairs outside ice maker kept our blender busy! The fishing rods, paddle boards, kayaks, bikes and corn-hole made for easy activities. We have already booked Plein Air Point for our 2024 summer vacation!

We loved the house. We enjoyed the pool area and also spent lot of time fishing. Also used the kayaks several times. The pool was bath warm. The fishing was spotty. We had several lines broken by large fish. Our best luck was at night using live shrimp and casting just a few feet from the dock. The manatee paid us a visit and that was great. We had a couple of minor issues in the house which were fixed by Vacasa very quickly. I highly recommend this property.

Yes, this place is as good as the photos look. Million dollar views every day from every floor. We loved everything we could do without leaving the house - kayak, paddle board, pool, hot tub, corn hole, quoites, reading, sun or shade. Watch fish and stingrays from the doc. We didn’t bike but trails are nearby. This place has it all and great coffee shops/restaurants just a few minutes away.
We also appreciated that all of the light switches, remotes and power screens were labeled so you knew what each switch would do. Will be staying again!

Great home, nice location and spectacular views. Well stocked with cleaning and laundry to get you started. Plenty of towels. The bunk beds are queen size. Nicely maintained. Takes a minute to figure out the pool/spa settings - just follow the directions. Quiet for most of the week except for a bit of yard maintenance. Plenty of gear for fishing, kayaking, games, puzzles, books. Kids would probably have a great time. We took a couple of day trips into Key West. Had a few great meals in Marathon. Lots to do and close to Publix/Winn Dixie if you need supplies. We really enjoyed the week we stayed here!

The house is exactly as described with all the amenties they list. The use of the kayaks, scuba gear, high quality pool noodles, fishing poles, bait bucket and having an ice machine next to the fridge for the pool was great! The pool furniture is high quality and the grill works great with an extra propane tank. We also used the outside fire pit with wood that was provided along with firestarters. We enjoyed the pool and spa and used the differant pool colors during our night swims, we took walks daily along the walking trail behind the airport.
We did not have a pool company stop by during the whole week which was nice because at other homes we have been surprised by maintenance workers. Although you are next to the airport inside the house you can barely hear the planes. Inside the house is stocked with all the necessities needed for your stay and they offer toilet paper, paper towels, laundry soap, dish soap, trash bags, ziplocks bags & hand soap along with a starter pack for your shower just like a hotel. The Vacasa company really caters to your vacation needs so you dont have to stress about getting to the store when you are tired from driving. We fished from the dock and Tarpon had moved in so we caught 3, 1 shark, a lobster and we saw the manatee hanging around the dock in the afternoons, several iguanas (Iggy) & our friend "Buddy" the egret. If you need good live bait visit Dee over at Keys Maritime and stop by Castaways over there for a drink and food. Best places on the island for local service.
This stay was by far one of our best stays in the Keys and we have been going for 10 years. Thank you to the owners for sharing and Vacasa for everything!

The pictures do not do justice for this property. The property is much BETTER than the pictures. Where do I start. The gulf views encompass about 180 degrees on the property and you can see the gulf from almost every spot in the house (even from the master bathroom which is on the road side of the house). The pool and hot tub were also great although I couldn’t figure out hot to get the hot tub water hotter. There are numerous places to sit and relax inside and outside. Ironically, we never sat in the huge family room and never turned on a TV. It was also an extremely private lot.
The wildlife / marine life here is fabulous. We saw numerous Iguana, sharks, crabs, and literally thousands of fish right next to the dock. They also had kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, games, etc.
I can’t wait to come back here again with other family members. This place is special and exquisite.

We rent vacation homes on Marathon at least once every year. This has been our favorite. The home was clean and included everything you could need from bicycles, to kayaks, to paddle boards. There was even snorkel equipment. The views from almost every room were fantastic. The pool was great. Fishing from the dock was great too. Smaller mangrove snappers could be caught all day long. Lemon sharks were almost as easy to catch by casting pinfish over the cut onto the flats. We also caught bonnethead sharks, blacktop sharks, nurse sharks and barracuda. The aquatic life off the dock was amazing. Schools of parrotfish, and mangrove snappers were always present. We also saw French angelfish, Atlantic tangs and even had a manatee visit. We will definitely be back!

My family of 6 stayed at Plein air Point for 1 week in early August. I honestly can’t say enough good things about our stay. My husband enjoyed paddle boarding with the kids every morning from right off the dock. He kayaked as well and one day a manatee swam alongside them! Five of us snorkeled daily from the dock as well. There are many lobsters in the rocks right by the steps and tons of fish! My father in law loved fishing every day with the kids. One of the highlights of the week was the family of iguanas that live in the bushes behind the pool. They visited us daily! My kids couldn’t get enough! This house has so much to offer. We enjoyed it thoroughly, especially the panoramic views from just about every room in the house!

The dock has every kind of marine life you can think of from lobster to parrot fish to manatees along with a nurse shark that visited each day looking for lobster. The pool and hot tub were warm and inviting considering it was 46 degrees when we arrived but warmed quickly back to the 70’s. The home is well kept and clean. We had very few bugs, but there are screens and fans if you need them. Launch for paddling is by ladder from the dock. Very private, but not secluded. Beautiful views.

The location and the view were perfect. Easy enough for a day trip to Islamorada or Key West. Perfect to stay at the house and float in the pool. Kayaks, paddle boards, bikes!!! No need to leave the house for fun and recreation. Quoits and corn hole games for when we didn’t want the water. And a fire pit with wood for evenings! Perfect!

My wife and I and our two teenagers stayed here for a week. The views are incredible from nearly every room. The pool and dock on the Gulf, along with the sea kayaks and paddle boards, make it just about perfect. The spa is fine but a little outdated - not many jets, and they are not very strong, and the manual switchover at the pool pump is a little clumsy. But this did not in any way diminish our stay. The top floor primary suite is exceptional. The location is close to a lot of waterfront restaurants and other businesses like jet ski rentals and fishing. The property managers are fantastic! We had a few questions and unexpected issues during our trip and Vacasa was perfect in their communication. They could not have been more attentive. Would highly recommend this house. Great base to explore thr Keys.

We spent three weeks at Plein Air Point. We had a wonderful time and would definitely rent again. The location is perfect and the view every morning from the master bedroom was stunning. We watched manatees, dolphins, rays and many fish in the bay. They kayaks and paddle boards were great and so was the pool. The bathrooms and bedrooms were up to date and nice but the living room, dining and kitchen furnishings were worn and dated. Overall this was a great place to rent and we were sorry to leave.

We stayed for one week at the house and absolutely loved it. The pool is fantastic and used the paddle boards and kayaks daily. Saw lots of wildlife and sealife. Make sure you have bug spray for the evenings. Can’t wait to return.

This property is 5 star!!! The rooms and living space are spacious and super clean! The outdoor area is to die for and the pictures did not do it justice. We were able to dock a boat for our stay and the other toys provided by the property kept us busy all week. So much wildlife to experience. It was a true private paradise!!!! This was our second stay here and looking forward to booking again next year! You can’t beat the view, absolutely gorgeous sunsets. So much to do at the house from paddle boarding to snorkeling, boating and swimming in the pool. A lot of marine life to see just right off of the dock, huge sea turtles, parrot fish and lobster. We also enjoyed watching the BIG iguanas outback. The house is very private which is another added bonus. This house is my favorite place to stay in Marathon!!

This house was perfect. The layout and views are absolutely gorgeous. We spent so much time by the pool, on the dock, and sitting on the balcony watching the sunset. We used the paddleboards and did a lot of fishing off of the dock. We also brought a 32 foot boat and there was plenty of space on the large dock for it. The internal house layout was also great. It was thoroughly wonderful. We also enjoyed the amenities like the fish freezer and icemaker on the pool level. It is a great house!!! The fact that the pool was cooled was very refreshing especially with how hot it is during summer.

Having the paddle boards, kayaks and pool were awesome and found ourselves wanting to return to the house early as we enjoyed being there and the privacy we had. The daily visit from Franc the iguana was fun and really enjoyed all the wildlife around the house. Only downfall that was minor is be prepared to purchase extra toilet paper, garbage bags, paper towels, etc. Absolutely loved this place and definitely will be back!!

We came with our BFF'S to stay for a week and the view was awesome!! The amenities were well thought out, something to do for everyone. The house was so spacious and had everything you would need. The pool was a nice place to view the sunsets as well as the outside loungers. Our boat access was incredible, plenty of room, and straight from the house to the bay or ocean. There's not one thing we did not like and plan to continue memories with our friends at this location.

Plenty to see and do here, from paddle boarding or snorkeling out back. Just a few minutes via the boat to the Vaca Cut and access to the Atlantic Ocean. We plan on making reservations again for next year!

This was our first time to stay in Marathon, and we stayed here 6 weeks. This was the perfect location for our family, friends, and 27’ fishing boat. Plenty of room, comfortable furnishings in every room, huge pool with attached hot tub. There was something to do for everyone- bicycles, Kayaks, standup paddle boards, fishing off the dock (bring your own rods). “Iggy” the huge iguana was so much fun to watch! The Kitchen has everything you need to cook with. There is a brand new Weber grill. Plenty of beautiful outdoor furniture under a covered deck. We love this property and would have stayed longer but it was booked!! We can’t wait to come back!

What a wonderful place to spend our Christmas week!! Beautifully and comfortably decorated and in the perfect location for water lovers! Loved having the 4 bikes to explore the area! The 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards were so much fun! Everything about this place screamed “Relaxation!” Our family memories made here will last a life time. We especially loved our friendly visitor everyday which we named “Iggy”.... a 4 feet long Iguana! Totally harmless yet so much fun to watch! He was as curious about us as we were him. A total delight!! Highly recommend Plein Air Point... you definately will not be disapointed! Worth every penny! Thank you to the owners for allowing your gorgeous home be a VRBO! We will be back!!! ❤️
