MA80 - Sombrero Beach Retreat

This property was amazing. Very comfortable and kitchen had everything and more for cooking. Very peaceful setting. Many manatees on a daily basis in the canal. Would definitely recommend the outstanding property

Home was just as advertised. Kitchen well stocked. Beds comfortable. Plenty of space for all. Pool lovey. Beach just down the street. Great location to parks, beaches and restaurants. Some days construction was noisy but we headed to beach on those days.

We had a great time. Location was walkable to the beach. Saved us money by not paying for beach parking. The house was great but not stocked with any cleaning supplies. Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed the house!

We spent a week here in March with our family of 5. Everyone had room to be together and also enough space for some alone time which is important when your kids are young adults. Bedrooms were large and comfortable. Outside space was beautiful and can see some of the ocean. Home was very clean and had everything you needed. Walking distance to Sombrero Beach and very close to Publix and restaurants. We loved the location. Would love to stay here again.

Loved staying at this house. We didn’t expect a full water view, but there is no house across the canal so you can few the gulf sunrises. Very nice place overall, left our fishing stuff outside overnight with no problems. I will say it sleeps 6 or 7 easier than 8 unless you bring an air mattress and I don’t recommend bringing a boat with low gunnels as the dock is a good jump with low tide and the boat will go under the dock.

The property was the perfect location! So close to the beach, right on a canal (saw manatees from the porch/pool!!!), and incredible unobstructed water views. The set up was a little difficult with several younger children because three of the sleeping areas had direct access to the balcony and pool. The great room, kitchen, balcony, and pool were perfect for hanging out together (7 in our group) and we never felt crowded. There were several comfy areas to lounge outside in sun and shade. We had the hardest time figuring out which light switches worked which lights or fans... Even by the end of the trip we hadn't figured it out. The management company was extremely responsive and even brought a replacement blender and changed out a light bulb in the shower the same day I reached out!

Beautiful home with beautiful views. The home was spotlessly clean and has all the amenities that you need. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We loved the private pool and used it everyday during our stay. The upper patio is a great place to watch the sunrise. Great local restaurants are not too far away. My wife rented a bicycle and peddled to the beach everyday. We saw lots of iguanas and even had a few manatee sightings in the canal. Check in was seamless. We thought we had an issue when we checked in and I contacted the management company and they were very responsive. The issue turned out to not be an issue at all after we figured it out. Highly recommend this place, it was very affordable and beautiful. We would definitely stay here again if we’re ever in Marathon again. Thank you for a wonderful place to stay!

We had a great time and would return to this house. It was great for our family of 4 + grandparents. Pool and view were great! Sliding doors were super hard to open and close but we just used the side door. Thanks for a great week!

We love this property, the views, the pool, the spaciousness of all of the rooms. We feel like we are "coming home" everytime we arrive here. We have rented at least 5 times. We treat this home as though it was our own. Unfortunately, this year we were not given priority to book again for next year. When I went to book again (a full year out), the dates were blocked off already. We are extremely disappointed.

The house was very comfortable and well appointed. The kitchen had everything that we needed. The location was great, especially having Sombrero Beach a mile away. We loved sitting on the deck and looking out over the canal. Very convenient to restaurants.

Beautiful home with a spacious floor plan. Our family enjoyed the view over looking the ocean and relaxing by the pool. Captured morning sunrises right from the master bedroom. We loved the quiet neighborhood and the location - shopping center close by and walking distance to Sombrero Beach. Will definitely book another stay in the future. 5 plus rating

Overall we loved the house! It’s was clean, fit the description/photos, was well decorated, had enough sitting for our family of 8 both insides and outside by the pool. It had everything we needed to cook meals at the house and the large kitchen/dining/living space was big enough that we never felt cramped or like we were on top of each other. We brought out 18’ boat down and had just enough space at the dock behind the house. Easy hose access in the backyard to clean the boat/equipment that we used each day. My only complaint for our stay here is that the pool feels like it needs to be resurfaced. It’s a very, very rough, rocky finish on the inside - everyone left the trip with minor cuts on the bottom of their feet and/or hands. At one point I was underwater and went to push off the bottom and accidentally hit the bottom with my knee, cutting it up pretty bad. But other than that, we had a great time. The pool was big enough to accommodate us all, we enjoyed the ~7-8ft deep end a lot

The property description was accurate. The house and property were impeccably clean and as described. There were plenty of towels for everyone staying to have for showers and use of the pool in the backyard. We were pleased to find beach chairs to take to the beach located nearby. The extra added bonus was that the pool receives shade early afternoon, allowing for reprieve from the Florida sun. The entire back of the house is shaded during the hottest parts of the days, but you are able to enjoy all parts of the backyard. We would not hesitate to book this house again!

We love the Sombrero Beach home. The accommodations were perfect for 3 families and the downstairs suite made for cozy sleeping for our 2 small grandchildren. There is nothing I would change. Thank you! Looking forward to coming back in February

Great house! Great space for a family of 5, felt like we could have fit a couple more. Awesome pool. Great kitchen. 1 mile to two grocery stores. Super close to the beach. Sketchy and shallow entrance to canal by boat if you rent one, but it’s doable at low tide with a smaller center console. Our first trip to Keys and were not disappointed!

The pictures didn't do the size of the property justice. Home was clean and well taken care of. The amenities - as far as supplies were lack luster. We ended up spending more than anticipated on routine household supplies - trash-bags, paper towels, condiments... the house came with very minimal toilet paper and salt and pepper with a few "pods" for dishes and laundry - but only enough for a day or two. There are no pool toys, but beach towels present. No cooler. Other than that, we have no complaints and would come back in a heart beat - we just wish we would have known the limited supplies. The amount of cooking utensils and pots / pans was fine. The pool was amazing and great for the kids. We rented a boat while visiting and had ample room to park. The neighbors are also really nice :-)

We absolutely love this home. It was laid out perfectly for us. Our 19-year-old daughter and her best friend stayed on the downstairs level which was great for them. We also had a 12-year-old son. The house is big enough where everybody had their own space. The pool was great. It was in the sun until about 2 o’clock and then in the shade for the remainder of the day. This was great for those times that we had gotten too much sun. The outdoor living space is very abundant. We absolutely loved it. I would definitely stay there again.

This was the perfect house for our fammily trip. A quite neighborhood with everything we needed from the kitchen to the pool deck and verandas looking out onto an unobstucted view of the ocean. Very clean. The pool was always at the right temperature to refresh after our days activites.

This is a great location in Marathon with a beautiful ocean view. It had everything we needed and it was centrally located so easy to run and pick up anything we forgot. But we rarely left, it was just the place we needed to relax and get away.

The house was large and roomy for eight adults. Loved all the outdoor living areas and used the heated pool almost daily especially the days the weather cooled down. We fished the channel behind the house and grilled our catch. We would stay here again.

This property was absolutely incredible. The space was clean, open, and kid-friendly. Close to all public amenities and the public beach. The pool was our favorite spot of the house by far—perfect at all hours of the day, especially for kiddos, as the backyard is shaded in the afternoon. The view from the back patio was breathtaking, great morning coffee location. We will definitely be staying again.

We spent three weeks at the house and it was everything we had hoped for. Because of the pandemic we were looking for a private getaway from the cold where we could feel safe. We received the lock box information the morning of arrival and checked in with no issues. The house is updated and very clean with very comfortable furniture. The bed in the master is incredibly comfortable. Since it was just the 2 of us, we cannot report on the other beds. A fully equipped kitchen made it easy for us to cook like we were at home. The large sliding glass doors across the living room and master bedroom gives a lovely indoor/outdoor living feel. The outdoor area is quite lovely with ample seating off the living room as well as on the pool level. The landscaping is lush and affords privacy from the house next door. We swam in the heated pool at least once a day; more often twice. We had a couple of minor maintenance requests and they were handled promptly, efficiently and safely. It was a short walk to Sombrero Beach from which we could watch the sun set.

Spacious and well equipped home. The dock was a big plus for our boat. Close to many dive and fishing spots. Ample parking, and home was clean. The pool is a nice postlude to being out on the water.

This home is beautiful, clean and the pictures are spot on! The location on the canal was great with the heated pool (we traveled in Feb.) and a just a short walk to Sombrero Beach, made this home everything we hoped for and more. The neighborhood was nice and the neighbors friendly. It was close to the grocery stores and restaurants -which was convenient. We enjoyed breakfast on the upper patio & watched the sunrise across from the house right on the Atlantic ocean- we hope no one builds in the lot across from this home-this view of the sunrise each morning made it extra special! The host were very nice and responsive to our inquiries. Thanks for an awesome experience! We'll be back!
